EU Ocean Data Catalog

Blue Pulse Indexer unifies siloed ocean datasets into a single interoperable, searchable catalog. By adopting W3C DCAT Version 3 standards, it bridges the gap between major ocean data providers, making it easy to discover, compare, and access marine environmental data.

The catalog indexes metadata from multiple sources, transforms it into linked data (RDF), and stores it in a triple store for powerful semantic and spatial queries. Each dataset record includes temporal coverage, geographic extent, observation types, and direct links to data distributions.

Data Sources

Copernicus Marine Service

The European Union's ocean monitoring service providing satellite and model-based data on sea surface temperature, currents, salinity, sea level, and more. Accessed via STAC API.

EMODnet

European Marine Observation and Data Network aggregating marine data from diverse sources across bathymetry, biology, chemistry, geology, physics, seabed habitats, and human activities. Accessed via OGC CSW.
